How it all began
From teacher to business owner
Hello, my name is Catherine and I am the creator and franchisor of Popcat’s Music Time Ltd. Since its inception in September 2014, Popcat’s has grown rapidly with classes being carried out right across the Wirral, Neston, Ellesmere Port, Deeside, Chester, Runcorn, Warrington, Northwich, Knutsford, Childwall, Garston, Crosby, Didsbury and Hereford.
I am a fully qualified and experienced primary school teacher and I have spent many years teaching from foundation through to year 6. I have continued to tutor primary school children both indivually and in groups since leaving teaching. I have always been passionate about children learning through music and having fun, and after carefully planning Popcat’s for three years I finally decided to take the plunge of a career change in 2014. The satisfaction of knowing that so many little ones enjoy coming to Popcat’s classes week after week tells me that I made the right career choice.
Introducing Jess
Meet our Franchise Support Manager
Hi my name is Jess and I am the Franchise Support Manager for Popcat’s. This is a new role that has been created due to the popularity of the Franchise and the increased level of support needed to ensure the business continues to grow. We are determined that the franchisees will continue to receive the high level of help and guidance from Head Office, that has always been one part of the package that makes the business so successful.
I left my job as a Deputy Head Teacher in a Special School back in December 2015 and actually joined another music franchise, where I worked with the elderly and nurseries.
I do miss being able to support and lead people so this new role is perfect and I already have been made to feel so welcome by the Popcat’s family. I am working closely alongside Catherine the Franchisor to help make Popcat’s the nationally known household name that it is here on the Wirral.
I have a nearly 19 year old son who is in his first year at Uni, so a little bit of empty nest syndrome, but the husband and my 2 little foreign rescue dogs keep me well occupied! I am a member of PopVox choir as well and also enjoy a bit of crafting in my spare time!

Pay As You Go
It really is simple when you choose your class. You just go along to the venue and pay there and then! No Booking, no complicated forms to fill in, just pop your money in the box or pay via BACs or on the class leader's card machine!
So how much is a class?
- £6 per child (£3 for each additional sibling)
- babies under 6 months are FREE
- babies under 9 months are FREE with a paid sibling
- childminder prices are £6 per child and £3 for each additional child

Every Class Includes A Snack
Banana or Raisins?
After every class your child will have the choice of a banana or raisins!
Each adult is offered a hot drink or water. We are all about the social time and to us it's just as important as the class.
We do not allow any eating during the actual class due to the risk of choking and allergies.
CAA Accreditation
We are very proud to be fully accredited members of the CAA. The CAA is a not for profit organisation that gives parents and carers peace of mind knowing their chosen children's activity has signed up to a comprehensive code of practice.
