• Social interaction for parents and their little ones

  • What We Do

We are passionate that music is for everyone!

    Pre school classes

    Our classes for little people

Popcat's runs music and movement classes for babies and children. Our classes are pay as you go during term time (pre book during school holidays). We love nothing more than watching little people having lots of fun!

    Sessions for care homes

Music isnt just for the young

Popcat's has a new speciality, sessions for care homes and sheltered accomodation. Our sessions are jam packed full of engaging music, instruments and props.

  • Pre-school classes

We're on a mission to encourage development as your little one grows.

    Popcat's classes (0-5yrs)

    Sing, dance, play and listen.

Popcat's classes are an hour of singing traditional nursery rhymes, dancing, playing percussion instruments and much more. The classes have been planned to include all little ones, you wont find an age specific class because they are ALL suitable from 0-5 years. Parents and carers love the fact that siblings of mixed ages can come along and have lots of fun together with a sibling discount offered too!

Child minders, grandparents, parents and carers are all very welcome.

All Popcat's classes cover the 7 areas of learning in the EYFS and we are very proud of that. The classes have been planned by an experienced teacher with all little ones in mind.

After each class there is always a social time in addition to the 60 minutes of fun. All children are offered banana or raisins and water. We offer tea and coffee to all adults too as well as a listening ear. We know how it feels to be up all night with a poorly toddler and we definitely know how hard being a parent and carer is.

    Award winning classes!

Thank you to all who voted.

We were delighted to be given the title of 'best class for 2-4 year olds' on the Wirral, as voted for by local parents via "Mums in the Know". To achieve this in our very first year of trading is definitely something we are very proud of.

Popcat's has also achieved several other awards. One for innovation and one for our classes on the Hoop app during 2018.

    Children's parties

Not just a disco with party games.

At Popcat’s we offer a party with a difference. Parties are based on the content of the classes carried out across the region every day, but are tailor made to individual needs and are guaranteed to make all the children at your child’s party smile! Choose from a range of songs and games. Our parties last for 60 minutes and we always give the birthday girl or boy a gift too.

See what some of our party reviews say:

"We had a Popcat's party with Lisa today and I cant thank her enough. From start to finish she was so helpful and enthusiastic. Lisa was brilliant with all the children at the party (aged 1-8) and learnt their names straight away. We also had the extra party games by Lisa which was great. Would definitely recommend Popcat's and Lisa." Joanne. May 2018

"Jemma did a party for our daughter's 3rd birthday. It was fabulous.....

Jemma is so professional, very organised and made it really easy for a first time party organiser like me. Everyone had such a great time, plus a very reasonable price too." Sarah. April 2018

    Pay as you go

Not a term long contract in sight!

All of our classes are pay as you go, during term time, you quite simply choose the right class for you and come along. There isn’t a need to book at all or let us know that you are coming and that’s what makes our classes so appealing to everyone who attends!

    Fun fun fun!

    Encouraging independence.

We love nothing more than watching your little people have fun. We encourage movement and enjoyment during every session and we also recognise there are times when they want to sit quietly. Quite simply the sessions can be as active as your little one wants them to be.

  • Care home sessions

Music isn't just for the young

    From September 2018.

Popcat's is well known and loved for sessions for pre school children, however we now have a new and very exciting string to our bow and will be going into care homes too. Our new sessions will be run in addition to our already established and award winning classes. The care quality commision regulates what happens in care homes. We want Popcat's to be part of the lives of older people as well as the pre school children. Why should they have all the fun?

"For people in care homes, a lot of time is spent sitting down in a communal area or common room, watching television and chatting. Ensuring your service-users spend time outside is key, and encouraging them to take part in regular activities and exercise will make their life richer and more fulfilling." Care Quality Commision

Our sessions have been designed specifically for older people to have stimulation, movement and enjoyment! If you know anyone who would love a Popcat's session in a care home please do send a message to catherine@popcats.co.uk

We can come to care homes, residential homes and sheltered accomodation. All of our session leaders have dbs enhanced certificates and are highly professional and caring ladies.

  • Who We Are

Introducing Popcat's creator and class leaders.

    Catherine Williams

    Creator and franchisor

    mobile: 07986 948 576

Hello, my name is Catherine and I am the creator of Popcat’s Music Time Ltd. Since its inception in September 2014, Popcat’s has grown rapidly with classes being carried out right across the Wirral, Ellesmere Port, Chester, Southport and Crosby.

I am a fully qualified and experienced primary school teacher and I have spent many years teaching from foundation through to year 6. I have continued to tutor primary school children both indivually and in groups since leaving teaching. I have always been passionate about children learning through music and having fun, and after carefully planning Popcat’s for three years I finally decided to take the plunge of a career change in 2014. The satisfaction of knowing that so many little ones enjoy coming to Popcat’s classes week after week tells me that I made the right career choice.

    Jemma Durston

    Class Leader
    (Hoylake, West Kirby & Heswall)

    mobile: 07890 099 049

I am mum to two amazing children, Maggie (nearly 4... going on 14!) and Jack (nearly 2… and far too cute). We started going to Popcat's a while ago and loved it. It was the first class where I could take both my children and one wasn't bored - a rare thing. The more classes I attended, the more I could see what a great business Catherine had created and I wanted to be part of it.
I have a huge love of Drama and Music, having trained and worked as a professional actor on TV, stage and Theatre in Education, performing musical educational-based plays in primary schools nationwide. I also have loved working in pre-school and primary education and teaching Drama & English at secondary level, so I feel like I've found my calling with Popcat's!

    Helen Quick

    Class Leader

    (New Brighton & Wallasey)

I'm Helen, & I've been teaching in primary schools across the Wirral for over 20 years. I specialise in Early Years Education, and I feel that Popcat's is the perfect way to deliver a positive learning experience in a playful and enjoyable way.

My son is at primary school now, but we spent his baby & toddler years having lots of fun at various classes & playgroups. I loved us having that precious quality time together, & now I am excited about providing a similar experience for other parents & their children with Popcat's Music Time!

I specialise in creative aspects of learning, having run the choir and orchestrated many school productions. When I heard about Popcat’s Music Time, I couldn’t wait to be part of it! I have been lucky enough to see first-hand how music can play a valuable role not only in children’s development but also their enjoyment. Hi I’m Laurie, I’m a qualified primary school teacher with 12 years of experience teaching foundation stage children. I’m a mum to two beautiful children, Ewan aged 9 and Elise age 5, I also have a fur baby called Poppy. I jumped at the chance of joining the Popcat’s team after I attended a class with my daughter. She has always been lively and the classes allowed her the freedom to express herself through music & movement without being restricted.I love seeing parents, carers and grandparents smile and build friendships over a nice cuppa after class. Popcat's provide the setting where memories that will last a lifetime are created. I can’t wait to get to know you all and see your little Popcat's grow and shine.

Hi! I’m Lisa and I’m a qualified primary school teacher of 15 years. I first discovered the wonderful world of Popcat’s when I took my 2 year old daughter to a Popcat’s class. We both thoroughly enjoyed it (as we still do now!) and I am thrilled to be joining the Popcat’s team and holding my very own classes around Upton and Woodchurch. Come along and join in with the fun, music and movement!

Hello I’m Sophie and I’m a fully qualified and experienced secondary Drama teacher. I have a passion for performing and creating a learning environment that is engaging and most of all, fun! I’ll be running Popcat’s classes in Great Sutton and Chester and so look forward to meeting you all! Nothing brings me more pleasure when working with children to see them develop in confidence and social skills through the use of movement and music. Social development is a fundamental skill that children use throughout their childhood and I believe Popcat’s nurtures this in the environment that is created and helps young children to thrive and develop. Come along and join in the with the Popcat’s fun through the wonderful world of movement and music!

    What do our franchisees say?

Here is just one testimonial from the amazing Steph who runs classes in Ellesmere Port and Bebington.

I joined the Popcat’s team in November 2016, having had a varied career background including working within the Performing Arts, and for charities working with individuals with learning disabilities.

My first experience of Popcat’s was attending a class with my two children after a friend recommended it. We all loved the class, my kids were engaged right from the start, even with their age difference they could both join in, which was brilliant as often classes are aimed at a singular age group. Having worked with children throughout my career, I could see the educational benefits of the session which was wrapped up in tons of fun.

I was looking for a change of career which fitted in with family life whilst still allowing me to be creative; I was so excited when I found that Popcat’s had franchise opportunities available. Working with pre-school children is brilliant; no two days are ever the same. I’m privileged to be able to see the children that come to class develop, grow in confidence and have positive interactions with their peers and carers.

Starting your own business can be challenging, you have to be willing to work hard and accept it may take time to grow. Having the support from Catherine, the creator of Popcat’s, has been a real plus, as she’s been on the journey and can help you to develop through advising and suggesting strategies to enable your business to grow. There are monthly meetings with the whole Popcat’s team, this is also an excellent facility which allows you to share ideas in relation to the business and is an extra layer of support.

It is fabulous to have a job which makes me smile. When a class is in full swing and you look around the room seeing children and adults having fun, making memories together. There is no better feeling.

    Lisa ( class leader CH49)

Today I'm emotional. A dad came over to tell me some wonderful comments about me and my class! I just love my job! (June 2018)
