• Social interaction for parents and their little ones

  • What We Do

We are passionate that music is for everyone!

    Pre school classes

    Our classes for little people

Popcat's runs music and movement classes for babies and children. Our classes are all pay as you go so there’s no need to book. We love nothing more than watching little people having lots of fun!

    Sessions for care homes

Music isnt just for the young

Popcat's has a new speciality, sessions for care homes and sheltered accomodation. Our sessions are jam packed full of engaging music, instruments and props.

Due to covid we are currently unable to offer sessions in care homes.

  • Pre-school classes

We're on a mission to encourage development as your little one grows.

    Popcat's classes (0-5yrs)

    Sing, dance, play and listen.

Popcat's classes are an hour of singing traditional nursery rhymes, dancing, playing percussion instruments and much more. The classes have been planned to include all little ones, you wont find an age specific class because they are ALL suitable from 0-5 years. Parents and carers love the fact that siblings of mixed ages can come along and have lots of fun together with a sibling discount offered too!

Child minders, grandparents, parents and carers are all very welcome.

All Popcat's classes cover the 7 areas of learning in the EYFS and we are very proud of that. The classes have been planned by an experienced teacher with all little ones in mind.

After each class there is always a social time in addition to the 60 minutes of fun. All children are offered banana or raisins and water. We offer tea and coffee to all adults too ( we ask that all adults bring their own cup to sessions to minimise the risk of infection) as well as a listening ear. We know how it feels to be up all night with a poorly toddler and we definitely know how hard being a parent and carer is.

    Award winning classes!

Thank you to all who voted.

We were delighted to be given the title of 'best class for 2-4 year olds' on the Wirral, as voted for by local parents via "Mums in the Know". To achieve this in our very first year of trading is definitely something we are very proud of.

Popcat's has also achieved several other awards. One for innovation and one for our classes on the Hoop app during 2018.

    Children's parties

Not just a disco with party games.

At Popcat’s we offer a party with a difference. Parties are based on the content of the classes carried out across the region every day, but are tailor made to individual needs and are guaranteed to make all the children at your child’s party smile! Choose from a range of songs and games. Our parties last for 60 minutes and we always give the birthday girl or boy a gift too.

See what some of our party reviews say:

"We had a Popcat's party with Lisa today and I cant thank her enough. From start to finish she was so helpful and enthusiastic. Lisa was brilliant with all the children at the party (aged 1-8) and learnt their names straight away. We also had the extra party games by Lisa which was great. Would definitely recommend Popcat's and Lisa." Joanne. May 2018

"Jemma did a party for our daughter's 3rd birthday. It was fabulous.....

Jemma is so professional, very organised and made it really easy for a first time party organiser like me. Everyone had such a great time, plus a very reasonable price too." Sarah. April 2018

    Pay As You Go!

We are here to ease your mind.

All of our classes are pay as you go which means there isn't any need to book at all. Just choose a class from the timetable below and go along. You will be greeted by a smiling class leader and a music session packed with fun!

    Fun fun fun!

    Encouraging independence.

We love nothing more than watching your little people have fun. We encourage movement however, we know that during this uncertain time that social distancing measures that we have put in place will reassure you that we want to keep you and your little ones safe. We also recognise there are times when they want to sit quietly which is also fine with us too!

  • Care home sessions

Music isn't just for the young

    From September 2018.

Popcat's is well known and loved for sessions for pre school children, however we now have a new and very exciting string to our bow and will be going into care homes too. Our new sessions will be run in addition to our already established and award winning classes. The care quality commision regulates what happens in care homes. We want Popcat's to be part of the lives of older people as well as the pre school children. Why should they have all the fun?

"For people in care homes, a lot of time is spent sitting down in a communal area or common room, watching television and chatting. Ensuring your service-users spend time outside is key, and encouraging them to take part in regular activities and exercise will make their life richer and more fulfilling." Care Quality Commision

Our sessions have been designed specifically for older people to have stimulation, movement and enjoyment! If you know anyone who would love a Popcat's session in a care home please do send a message to catherine@popcats.co.uk

We can come to care homes, residential homes and sheltered accomodation. All of our session leaders have dbs enhanced certificates and are highly professional and caring ladies.

  • Who We Are

Introducing Popcat's creator and class leaders.

    Catherine Williams

    Creator and franchisor

    mobile: 07986 948 576

Hello, my name is Catherine and I am the creator of Popcat’s Music Time Ltd. Since its inception in September 2014, Popcat’s has grown rapidly with classes being carried out right across the Wirral, Ellesmere Port, Chester, Southport and Crosby.

I am a fully qualified and experienced primary school teacher and I have spent many years teaching from foundation through to year 6. I have continued to tutor primary school children both indivually and in groups since leaving teaching. I have always been passionate about children learning through music and having fun, and after carefully planning Popcat’s for three years I finally decided to take the plunge of a career change in 2014. The satisfaction of knowing that so many little ones enjoy coming to Popcat’s classes week after week tells me that I made the right career choice.

    Jemma Durston

    Class Leader
    (Hoylake, West Kirby & Heswall)

    mobile: 07890 099 049

I am mum to two amazing children, Maggie (nearly 4... going on 14!) and Jack (nearly 2… and far too cute). We started going to Popcat's a while ago and loved it. It was the first class where I could take both my children and one wasn't bored - a rare thing. The more classes I attended, the more I could see what a great business Catherine had created and I wanted to be part of it.
I have a huge love of Drama and Music, having trained and worked as a professional actor on TV, stage and Theatre in Education, performing musical educational-based plays in primary schools nationwide. I also have loved working in pre-school and primary education and teaching Drama & English at secondary level, so I feel like I've found my calling with Popcat's!

    Helen Quick

    Class Leader

    (New Brighton & Wallasey)

    mobile: 07841 236 313

I'm Helen, & I've been teaching in primary schools across the Wirral for over 20 years. I specialise in Early Years Education, and I feel that Popcat's is the perfect way to deliver a positive learning experience in a playful and enjoyable way.

My son is at primary school now, but we spent his baby & toddler years having lots of fun at various classes & playgroups. I loved us having that precious quality time together, & now I am excited about providing a similar experience for other parents & their children with Popcat's Music Time!

    Laurie Delisle

    Class Leader

    (Bebington & Bromborough)

    mobile: 07588 023322

Hi I’m Laurie, I’m a qualified primary school teacher with 12 years of experience teaching foundation stage children. I’m a mum to two beautiful children, Ewan aged 9 and Elise age 5, I also have a fur baby called Poppy. I jumped at the chance of joining the Popcat’s team after I attended a class with my daughter. She has always been lively and the classes allowed her the freedom to express herself through music & movement without being restricted.I love seeing parents, carers and grandparents smile and build friendships over a nice cuppa after class. Popcat's provide the setting where memories that will last a lifetime are created. I can’t wait to get to know you all and see your little Popcat's grow and shine.

    Lisa Brown

    Class Leader

    (Upton, Woodchurch & Frankby)

    mobile: 07813 974 192

Hi! I’m Lisa and I’m a qualified primary school teacher of 15 years. I first discovered the wonderful world of Popcat’s when I took my 2 year old daughter to a Popcat’s class. We both thoroughly enjoyed it (as we still do now!) and I am thrilled to be joining the Popcat’s team and holding my very own classes around Upton and Woodchurch. Come along and join in with the fun, music and movement!

    Sophie McGreal

    Class Leader

    (Ellesmere Port & Chester CH2)

    mobile: 07935 483 716

Hello I’m Sophie and I’m a fully qualified and experienced secondary Drama teacher. I have a passion for performing and creating a learning environment that is engaging and most of all, fun! I’ll be running Popcat’s classes in Great Sutton and Chester and so look forward to meeting you all! Nothing brings me more pleasure when working with children to see them develop in confidence and social skills through the use of movement and music. Social development is a fundamental skill that children use throughout their childhood and I believe Popcat’s nurtures this in the environment that is created and helps young children to thrive and develop. Come along and join in the with the Popcat’s fun through the wonderful world of movement and music!

Hi my name is Eve and I have 3 children. Cece, who is 6 years old, Martha is 5 and Stan is 3. I love being a mummy to my children and wanted a job where I could do just that.

I have been an early years teacher for the past 12 years.I have chosen to join the Popcat's team to enable my work life to fit around my family.

I am delighted that my love and passion for teaching can still continue in my exciting role as a Popcat's leader.

    Claire Flynn

    Class Leader

    mobile: 07805 152 843

Hi, I’m Claire and I’m delighted to be joining the Popcat's team for the Neston area. I’ve spent the last 3 years joining in Popcat’s classes around the Wirral with my little boy Danny. I’ve loved seeing how his experiences of classes have changed as he’s grown- from staring at the bubbles and shaking the bells as a baby. To now saying it’s the bunnies next as he lies on the floor ready to jump up and dance!

As a Primary School teacher for the last 20 years, Popcat’s is an obvious progression for me. I will still enable children to learn and develop in such a fun environment whilst working around my family. I’m so excited about starting my own Popcat's classes and look forward to welcoming you very soon!

    Hollie Dunne

    Class Leader

    mobile: 07368 409 701

The best thing in the world is being a Mummy and I wanted a job where I can combine all my skills as a mum and a teacher!

When I found Popcat’s I knew this was for me as it allows me to continue my enthusiasm and drive to support learning in the early years!
I can’t wait to start my own Popcat’s classes and look forward to welcoming you very soon!

    What do our franchisees say?

Jemma runs West Wirral classes and has done for 5 years

Owning a Popcat’s franchise is the best of both worlds in business - I run a small manageable but very profitable business, with no employees, and the support of a brilliant franchise manager and a fabulous team. The business structure is already in place, so I just get to do the fun stuff and run my classes each day!

Claire runs classes in Neston Cheshire

I first discovered Popcat’s as a Mum and loved the classes. The Pay as you Go aspect suited me as it was so flexible and the classes were such fun and value for money. I loved watching my little boy grow and get different pleasures at each age- from the bubbles and lights, to cuddling the animals, to counting time ten and finally singing and dancing to all of the songs. As a Primary School teacher, I recognised how valuable the structure and repetition was for him and how many aspects of learning were covered within the class. Feeling jaded about teaching, I decided to make the leap and buy my own franchise of Popcat’s. I love having my own business whilst benefiting from the support and hand holding of Catherine and the other class leaders. We are a strong team. A pandemic might not have been the best time to start my own business but I have no regrets. I love running classes and bringing joy to lots of little ones and every day makes me smile. I get to pick my son up from school every day and don’t have that Sunday night feeling anymore! I’m definitely happier in myself and who wouldn’t be getting to do the Hokey Cokey everyday! Thank you for having me Catherine.

Eve runs classes in Chester CH3

Since becoming part of the Popcat's team my life has changed for the better 100%. As a mum of 3 children I found the hours and demands of teaching a real strain on my mental health. I found it difficult to pay for wrap around care when I was the one who wanted to take them to school and pick them up and be available for trips and sports days and now I can.

Being a franchisee I work 3-4 hours a day in between school hours. Hours to suit me and my family, school holidays off so I have hassle free childcare and hassle free time with them in the holidays without having to think about going into school.

Buying a franchise is the best thing I’ve ever done.

Hollie runs classes in Northwich and started during the pandemic

Hi my name is Hollie, I was an early years teacher for 13 years. I am a mum to three amazing children, Lilia, George and Matilda, the best job in the world! When I was teaching I felt I was helping everyone else’s children and letting mine down, because I never had enough time in the day, then I made a big decision to leave teaching

I joined Popcat’s in January 2021, just as lockdown struck! The beginning of my adventure started on zoom and I absolutely loved every minute of it. Then restrictions lifted and I didn’t realise how much more I could love my job. Popcat’s has changed not only my life, but my whole family. I have never been happier and I have never looked back.

Sophie has just re signed her agreement

Who wouldn’t want to have their afternoons free to be spent doing what they want! Joining Popcat’s has given me a wonderful work/life balance which means that I’m home by 1.30pm most afternoons! Running your own business comes with hard work and determination to succeed but if you are prepared to put the work in it will pay off. When I decided to take a side step from secondary teaching I knew I still wanted to work with children, Popcat’s has allowed me to form wonderful relationships with families who attend classes and has allowed me to use my skills as a teacher to deliver engaging, educational and fun sessions for children. I’m very proud of the business I have built up and feel very honoured that parents/carers choose to return to my classes time after time.

Laurie runs classes in Bebington and Bromborough

I have been a Popcat’s class leader now for just over 2 years and 18 months of that was during Covid-19 but I can honestly say I would sign up again in a heartbeat beat! The support I receive from Catherine and the team is amazing, I never feel alone.

Popcat's changed my life and gave me and my family our happiness back again! The only thing I regret is not signing sooner than I did.

At Popcat's we strive to keep all little ones safe and thats our top priority, as well as having fun of course! However in the class parents and carers are responsible for their own children and their behaviour. We ask that the children do not run around or move around the class eating due to health and safety. We also ask that no food containing peanuts are ever brought into a class due to allergies.

If your child does have an accident during a session then please inform the class leader who will assist you and also provide a first aid kit.

Photographs are permitted in class but permission must be sought from all adults attending the session before they can be taken. Photographs may only be taken for personal use and may not appear on social media. Full length videos are not permitted under any circumstances.
